The Major and the Minor

Susan Applegate decides to return to her hometown after one year and twenty-five jobs in New York. Susan disguises herself as a twelve-year-old and travels for half the price after realizing she doesn't have enough money for the train fare. She hides in the compartment of Major Philip Kirby, a military school instructor who takes the "child" under his wing after being discovered by the conductors.
