It was in 1985 when Macoto Tezka (son of the legendary manga creator Osamu Tezuka) met musician and television personality Haruo Chicada, who had created a soundtrack for a film that didn't exist: The Legend of the Stardust Brothers. At the time, Macoto was just 22 years old, a film student with a number of short experimental films under his belt, but he had yet to make his feature picture debut, and he was under the weight of the TEZUKA name, which he was well aware of. Tezka subsequently converted this "fake soundtrack" into the real-life movie tale of "The Stardust Brothers," with Chicada serving as executive producer.
