The Holy Mountain

On a Mexican mountain of immortal wise men, a Mexican master guides a Christ figure and others. The Holy Mountain, by writer/director Alejandro Jodorowsky, is a spiritual search for enlightenment that pits illusion against truth. The Alchemist (Jodorowsky) assembles a diverse group of people to represent the solar system's planets. The occult adept's goal is to rid his trainees of their worldly possessions before taking them to Lotus Island. They ascend the Holy Mountain to unseat the eternal gods that control the universe in secret.
