The Great Man's Lady
Hannah Sempler Hoyt is 100 years old and lives in the last house with skyscrapers in Hoyt City. She finally agrees to tell her story to a 'girl biographer', who is going to write it down. On a flashback, Hannah meets Ethan in 1848 when she is a teenager and flirts with him, then they decide to get married on a whim without telling anyone. We see how they try to build a city in the middle of the wilderness, but the Gold Rush, star-crossed love, peril, and heartbreak make it hard for them to do so. The star "grows old" over 80 years.
