The Counterfeiters
The plot centers on Bernard, an Olivier classmate who is studying for his bac, learning he is a bastard and using this as an excuse to flee home. He spends the night in the bed of Olivier (where Olivier describes a recent visit to a prostitute and how he did not find the experience very enjoyable). Bernard is appointed Edouard's secretary following his theft of his uncle Edouard's suitcase and the accompanying issues. Olivier is envious and falls into the hands of the cynical and downright devilish Comte de Passavant, who goes with him to the Mediterranean.
