The Circus
While on the run, Charlie becomes a circus handyman and falls in love with the circus owner's daughter, who reciprocates his feelings for her father's daughter. Unbeknownst to Charlie, the girl develops a romantic attachment to an attractive young performer. When Charlie fills in for an injured tightwire walker, his adaptability makes him the star of the show. He is fired from the company for protecting the girl from her abusive father, but he returns and begs the handsome performer to marry the girl. It is the father's wish that they rejoin the circus after their wedding. While Charlie gets employed for a second time, he is left behind when the caravan heads out.
