The Black Balloon
Thomas is 16. His dad is in the army, and they just moved to a town in New South Wales. His mom is pregnant, and his older brother, Charlie, who is autistic, has his own adolescent sexual problems. This is what the family looks like now. Whenever Jackie, a girl from his swim class, comes to their house, Charlie makes it difficult for Thomas to meet her. When the three of them go for a walk, Charlie also makes it difficult for them to have a birthday party with their family. Whether or not Charlie's disability will be too much for Thomas to deal with is still up in the air.
