In1963, the band conquered Europe, and in1964, they conquered America. Their trailblazing international tours forever transformed global youth culture and, in some ways, invented modern-day mass entertainment. At the same time, the band was writing and producing a string of hugely popular songs and albums. The constant pressure of such extraordinary recognition, which became overwhelming upheaval in1966, led to the decision to discontinue touring.
