Because of a dispute in the family, Patricia Woodhouse has not spoken to her sister in quite some time. The argument stems from when they were children. Patricia goes back to pay her respects after receiving a letter informing her of the unexpected death of her sister Susanna Baylock. While there, she runs into Annabel Blair, who was Susanna's assistant. Patricia is informed by Annabel that she has now inherited the Baylock residence; but, something is not right with this house; it is harboring a very old secret, one that Patricia needs to understand before it is too late to learn.
