Lauren Ayres is an aspiring businesswoman who is trying her best. Unfortunately, she is employed by an investment firm where she is responsible for every aspect of operations while older investors such as Frank Peterson take all of the credit for success. She subsequently goes on to establish her own business. Laurel pretends to have a male boyfriend named Robert Cutty while she is out looking for clients. Moreover, once her business begins to flourish, every one of her clients wishes to meet Cutty, which is problematic given that he does not exist.
