Tabu
Matahi and Reri, two young people, have fallen in love. The old warrior Hitu announces that Reri will be the new chosen virgin for the gods. This means she must remain unharmed, or else she and her lover will be killed. Matahi, on the other hand, kidnaps her and flees with her to an island ruled by white men, where their gods would be harmless and powerless. Tabu is the final film directed by F.W. Murnau, who died in a car accident before the film's premiere.
