The plot revolves around a paroled white supremacist who has just murdered a cop and is holding a black family hostage. Garrett Tully is on the run again just hours after being released from maximum-security Pelican Bay State Prison after 14 years in solitary confinement. When he finds a house off a dirt road and kidnaps a family, he believes the Aryan Brotherhood is on his side–even though his kidnap victims are black. Mr. Walker, the family patriarch, is a bitter ex-con who despises cops so much that he disowns his own son for becoming one. Walker refuses to call the authorities for help after noticing Tully's familiar desperation, escalating familial tensions and causing grave missteps.
