Jack Mabry only has a few weeks left before he retires, and he wants to finish the cases he has been given. One of these is the case of Gerald "Stone" Creeson, who was found guilty of setting fires and is now up for parole. At first, Jack doesn't want to engage Stone in the rude conversation he wants, and he doesn't care much about the prisoner's pleas to be let out early. Stone doesn't think he can convince Jack himself, so he sets up for his wife to seduce the officer. However, as the corrupted players in this deadly game of deception get more and more involved in their passions and hidden secrets, it becomes harder and harder to tell who is doing what and why.
