Space Battleship Yamato
The globe has been decimated by the aliens' bombs five years after the Gamilons began their invasion of Earth. To avoid the radioactive surface, humanity's last survivors have gone underground. Susumu Kodai, a former pilot, discovers a capsule sent from the planet Iscandar that contains information on a technology that can remove radiation from the Earth's surface one day. The Earth Defense Force rebuilds the battleship Yamato with a new form of propulsion technology in the hopes of protecting the Earth by traveling 148,000 light years to Iscandar. Within a year, the radiation will have wiped out the rest of humanity.
