For the Flint Michigan Tropics of the American Basketball Association, Jackie Moon serves as the team owner, promoter, coach, and star player (ABA). During the 1976-77 season, the National Basketball Association (NBA) aims to merge with the ABA's top clubs in order to avoid the league's demise. This is a move only the best four teams will make; the rest will fold. To make the NBA, Jackie Moon needs to lead the Tropics back to winning ways. That's the only problem: Jackie Moon isn't actually a great coach or a star player in the sport of basketball. Jackie Moon must motivate his team to win fourth place in the playoffs if he wants to save his team from being forgotten and leave his mark on the city.
