Second Chorus
Danny O'Neill and Hank Taylor are both trumpeters in the Perennials, a college band. Both men have failed their exams seven years in a row, but they are both still going to school because they haven't given up. During a live show, Danny sees Ellen Miller who ends up being the band manager. Both men are trying to get her to like them, while also trying to get the other person fired.
