Luisa De Dominicus is a piano teacher from Milan who moves to Lucca to be with the man she loves, Ferdinando "Bonci" Marinotti, a city councilman who is running for mayor on a platform of moral values. She thinks Fernando is a single man who lives with his sick mother. This is, of course, not true at all. The boys who live in her apartment building think, wrongly, that Luisa is a call girl who teaches piano to hide her real job, and soon the dirty old men in the building hear about it. The clever boys drill a well-hidden hole in the wall between Signorina Luisa's apartment and Marcello Busatti's bedroom, which gives them a great view of their great neighbor. Marcello falls quickly in love with Luisa, but he isn't sure what she does for a living. Eventually, Luisa finds out that Fernando is a cheater, and after a big misunderstanding, she gives Marcello what he wants/needs.
