Christopher Cross, a cashier and part-time struggling artist, is completely taken with the lovely Kitty March. Kitty cooperates, but her true motivation is Johnny, a two-bit thief. When Kitty and Dan learn that art dealers are interested in Chris' work, they convince him to give Kitty credit for the paintings. Cross permits it because he adores Kitty, but his adoration will only allow her to get away with certain things.
