Save the Cinema
Liz Evans, a hairdresser and leader of a youth theater in Carmarthen, Wales, who initiated a campaign in 1993 to save the Lyric theater from closing is the protagonist of the documentary film Save The Cinema, which recounts Evans's true tale. They approached Steven Spielberg for assistance, and with the assistance of Richard Goodridge, who was serving as Mayor of Carmarthen at the time (although in the movie, this function is played by a local councillor), they were successful in getting a special premiere of Jurassic Park.
