Sanctum, a 3-D action movie from executive producer James Cameron, follows a group of underwater cave divers on a perilous journey to the world's largest, most beautiful, and least accessible cave system. When a tropical storm sweeps them deep into the caves, they must battle roaring water, treacherous terrain, and creeping dread while searching for an unknown sea escape route. Frank McGuire (Richard Roxburgh) is a master diver who has spent months exploring the Esa-ala Caves in the South Pacific. When Frank's exit is cut off by a flash flood, his team—which includes his 17-year-old son Josh (Rhys Wakefield) and investor Carl Hurley (IoanGruffudd)—is forced to make drastic changes. With supplies running out, the crew must cross an underwater maze to escape. They are soon faced with the obvious question of whether they can live or if they will be stuck indefinitely.
