1915, Côte d'Azur. Pierre-Auguste Renoir is beset by grief over the loss of his wife, arthritis and the news that his son Jean has been wounded in action. This newfound vitality comes from a young girl who appears out of nowhere. Andrée, full of life and beauty, will be his last model and the source of a spectacular renewal. Back at the family home to recuperate, Jean falls under the spell of the new redheaded Renoir star. And as he does so, a filmmaker begins to sprout within weak-willed, battle-shaken Jean, amid their Mediterranean Eden, in spite of his father's staunch objections.
