The only people Andie hangs out with outside of the record store she works at and her eccentric high school classmate Duckie, who has a crush on her, are her older employer and the owner of the record store. The idea of Andie going on a date with Blane, one of the more well-off students at school, sounds too good to be true. Andie learns the hard way that dating someone from a different social circle isn't always easy as she continues to fall for Blane more and more each episode.
