Having fled war-torn Lebanon, Tareq Hadhad and his family relocate to Antigonish, Canada, when the family's chocolate business was damaged and they were forced to evacuate. A new factory is proposed by Frank, a nearby neighbor, and local chocolatier Kelly feels frightened by the competition. Issam, Tareq's father, resumes manufacturing chocolates, which are popular at the local church. Tareq is divided between his desire to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor and his commitment to the family business, which is continuing to expand while Issam's "Peace By Chocolate" business thrives.
