It is believed that the castle-like property being purchased is cursed, so the buyer seeks out expert archaeologist Emma Fielding's opinion before making any final decisions. The death of the archaeologist she was hired to shadow is found in a secret chamber deep within the massive complex, and she finds herself in the heart of a murder investigation there. Jim Conner, Fielding's longtime friend and FBI special agent, is there to help her sort through the slew of possible suspects, each with a different motivation for wishing the man dead.
