Once There Was Brasília

As dystopian science fiction, the film borrows from the works of George Miller and John Gardner Ballard while also offering a critical examination of Brazil's present-day political and social situation. The film draws specifically on the impeachment process of President Dilma Rousseff while also speculating on an alternative future for the country. As the political capital of the country, and particularly as one of the most symbolic utopias of the twentieth century in Brazil, the city of Braslia shares the protagonism with a couple of renegades who make a living by traveling the margins, hoping for personal and communal salvation.
