This controversial modern version of Shakespeare's classic "Othello" has hot young actors, a hip, driving soundtrack, and a story about jealousy and betrayal. O is Odin James (Mekhi Phifer), the best basketball player at the school and a possible NBA player in the future. Even though he's the only black student at the prestigious Palmetto Grove Academy, everyone loves him, including the team's coach (Martin Sheen) and the Dean's beautiful daughter, Desi (Julia Stiles). Hugo, Odin's troubled friend and the son of the coach, is very angry that his father likes Odin on and off the court. Hugo's evil plan to make O and Desi distrust each other sets off a disturbing chain of events that explodes into a firestorm of breathtaking intensity.
