Neighboring Sounds
After the entrance of an independent private security company in a middle-class neighborhood in present-day Recife, Brazil, life takes an unexpected turn. The presence of these men instills a sense of security while also causing considerable anxiety in a society that is based on fear. For her part, married mother of two Bia must find a way to deal with her neighbor's dog's continual barking and howling, which she describes as "disgusting." It is a commentary on history, brutality, and loudness, as well as a slice of "Braziliana."
