Some of the people who used to work at the shipyard in Northern Spain keep in touch after it closed down. These are the people who used to work at the shipyard. They usually meet at Rico's bar, where they used to work together. Santa is the most confident person in the group, but he isn't in charge. When the shipyard closed, he broke a lamp in protest. A court case is now hanging over him because of that. His wife, Ana, has a job, but José is not. he is afraid that she will leave him for a co-worker because the distance between them is getting bigger. Ana works night shifts at a fish factory even though she has arthritic legs. She thinks her looks are gone. Her boss doesn't seem to agree, either. Lino is an old man who is always trying to get jobs that he doesn't qualify for. Amador, the oldest member of the group, has turned to alcohol after his wife left him. He keeps up a ruse that his wife will soon be back from vacation, but it's getting more and more obvious.
