Miracle in Milan

Once upon a time, an elderly woman discovers a baby in her cabbage patch. She raises the child, and when she dies, the boy, Toto, is placed in an orphanage. Toto leaves the orphanage a joyful young man, looking for job in postwar Milan. He meets the homeless and gathers them to establish a shanty town in an empty lot. The squatters discover oil on the property, and Toto experiences a vision of the old woman, who grants him a magical dove that will grant him whatever he desires.
