Link Jones is detained with singer Billie Ellis and gambler Sam Beasley when their train is delayed on its way east to Fort Worth to find a schoolteacher for his frontier town home. Jones guides them to his former house nearby, where he was raised as an outlaw. Jones pretended to be prepared to return to a life of crime when he discovered the gang still living in the hut.
