In a big city in Canada, David, a failed actor, lives with Candy, a bookworm he used to date before he came out as gay. Candy has both same-sex and heterosexual relationships, while David, who now waits tables, is in a meaningless relationship with a younger coworker. As David and Candy's strange group of friends, like a telepathic sex worker and a bad-tempered yuppie, come and go, a serial killer stalks the city's women.
