With nothing but partying and music on his thoughts, Jake is forced to examine himself and the ashes that surround him as his singing career crumbles. BECCA, Jake's former flame, reappears in his life unexpectedly after seeing her at a local music concert. Never forgetting who Jake is, good girl Becca makes him fight for it, just to fall in love with him again. His mother, who has gone missing, is hiding a heartbreaking secret: Jake's father, whom he believed was dead, is alive. To spare Jake the agony of discovering what his father, BO, had become as a result of a horrific accident, Mia determined that Jake should assume BO was dead. Jake eventually has a -random- encounter with BO on the street in a Nashville suburb, which triggers a chain of circumstances that reintroduces Bo to Jake's life and, hopefully, reconciles the family.
