Thirty years after serving together in the Vietnam War, Larry "Doc" Shepherd, Sal Nealon, and the Rev. Richard Mueller rejoin for a very different type of mission: to bury Doc's son, a young Marine who was murdered while serving in Iraq. Doc and his old friends decide not to bury the casket at Arlington National Cemetery and instead transport it up the coast to New Hampshire.
