An ER nurse named Kaitlyn is inadvertently shocked by a defibrillator while ministering to a young stabbing victim. The defibrillator was being used to save the woman's life. Almost immediately, Kaitlyn begins to have flashbacks of the victim's experiences. She seeks help from family, friends, and the police, but no one seems to take her concerns seriously. She makes the decision that she must try to solve the murder on her own, or else risk seeing horrific visions that cause her to question her own sanity and put her life in danger. Kaitlyn eventually partners up with the detective assigned to the case and weaves her way through the victim's background, uncovering not only the horrific truth, but also some shockingly unexpected lessons about life, love, grief, and forgiveness along the way.
