In the Family
Chip Hines, a brilliant six-year-old from Martin, Tennessee, has only ever known life with his two fathers, Cody and Joey. And it's a happy existence. Joey and Chip struggle to regain their footing after Cody's untimely demise in a vehicle accident. Cody's will indicates that he designated his sister as Chip's guardian just as they are beginning to bond. As Chip is taken away from Joey, the years of his acceptance into the family unravel. Joey strives for a resolution in his now-lonely home life. Friends are on his side, but the law is not. Joey, armed with their solace and inspired by Cody's memories, discovers a road to family harmony and a deeper relationship with his kid.
