Gibby
Katie, a young adolescent, is unable to snap out of her depression following the death of her mother. Gymnastics, school, and her friends have all lost their appeal to Katie. In the summer, she is asked to monkey-sit Gibby, the Capuchin monkey owned by her science instructor, and her life is transformed. Taking care of the monkey has a significant impact on her life. Katherine is re-energized by Gibby's upbeat and optimistic demeanor. Katie's adversary, a spiteful girl who is out to beat her at everything, is assisted by Gibby in gymnastics, friendship renewal (including the discovery of a potential boyfriend), and conquering her nemesis.
