FX guy Rollie Tyler is now a toymaker. Mike, his ex-husband, is a cop. He requests Rollie's assistance in apprehending a murderer. The operation goes well until an unknown man kills both the killer and Mike. Silak, Mike's boss, claims it was the killer who killed Mike, but Rollie knows it wasn't. Silak is obviously involved in Mike's death, so he calls on Leo McCarthy, the cop from the previous film who is now a private investigator, for assistance, and they discover it's not just Silak they have to worry about.
