An outing to the ski slopes is planned for a group of twenty-somethings who have been friends for ten years. When Ian was a child, his father and Ian were estranged because Ian's father worked excessive hours. Ian isn't interested in what his father has to say. - During this time, David is gay and virginal; Ian's business partner, Keaton, is upset because his sister Jane is pregnant and has no intentions to inform the father; Lisa is everyone's friend but no one's lover; and John, who is locked in adolescence, is constantly on the run from the law. Carla, a German-born stunner, is brought along by Hans, a fast-talking ski instructor, and she quickly falls out of love with him. David meets Manny because they both like playing chess. Soon, as relationships take unexpected turns, there will be plenty more surprises.
