After John's missing father is accidentally shot, Primo takes it upon himself to teach him the street code of respect and fear. For Primo, the streets of Brooklyn have always been home since he was twelve years old (in the film and in real life). While John mulls over whether or not to enter this life, Primo must decide whether or not to leave it all behind. Set in the scorching summer heat of New York, Five Star dives headfirst into gang life. With unwavering scrutiny, director Keith Miller watches these two men's lives with a quiet yet pointed detachment.
