Elmer Gantry
When the beautiful Sister Sharon Falconer (Jean Simmons), a roadside revivalist, meets the hedonistic but charming con man Elmer Gantry (Burt Lancaster), he feigns piety to join her act as a passionate preacher. Onstage, the two work well together, and their chemistry even extends to romance. However, both the show and their relationship are jeopardized when one of Gantry's ex-lovers (Shirley Jones) decides she has a grudge against the charismatic performer.
