Fritz Lang (as himself) has been hired by Prokosch to direct an adaptation of "The Odyssey," but when it looks like the famous director is making a movie that will fail at the box office, Prokosch brings in a screenwriter to spice up the script. When the writer and his wife have a fight, the professional and personal worlds collide.
