Concrete Plans
For a large old farmhouse high in the Welsh mountains, a group of five builders has been brought together to complete the renovation. There are problems between the workers and the aristocratic homeowner, as well as within the ragtag collection of men, who are housed in moldy portacabins. Dave, a seasoned veteran, and Foreman Bob, a gentle soul, work together to keep the peace. His nephew Steve, however, is influenced by Jim, a bigot, who dislikes Viktor, a Ukrainian laborer, as a result of this. Tempers flare when the weather becomes colder and payments are late. There has been a significant amount of bloodshed. An amazing idea is put out by Jim, who sees the blue-collar guys facing a downward spiral of moral choices:
