Arnold Schwarzenegger reprises his role as Conan the Barbarian in this action-packed and occasionally comedic sequel, which is based on a character that was originally developed by Robert E. Howard. In this installment, the villainous queen Taramis (Sarah Douglas) hires the hero (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to transport a young princess (Olivia D'Abo) and her powerful bodyguard (Wilt Chamberlain) to a distant castle in order to Conan is unaware of the queen's plans, but when she does return, she intends to sacrifice the princess so that she can take her kingdom after the bodyguard kills Conan. Conan's power and cleverness, as well as the abilities of his sidekicks—the eccentric wizard Akiro (Mako), the wild woman Zula (Grace Jones), and the clumsy Malak—are not taken into account by the queen's preparations (Tracey Walter). During this adventure to a kingdom of swords and sorcery, the hero and his allies must work together to vanquish enemies both of the mortal and the otherworldly variety.
