Ko Chow is an undercover officer who is constantly under attack. His boss, Inspector Lau, wants him to infiltrate a gang of violent jewel thieves; in order to do so, he'll need to get some pistols; his girlfriend wants him to commit to marriage or she'll leave Hong Kong with another boyfriend; and he's being hunted by other cops who have no idea he's a colleague. Furthermore, Chow would prefer to leave the police force. "I perform my job, but I betray my pals," he says of having to betray those who have become his friends, even if they are murders, drug traffickers, loan sharks, and protection racketeers. To make matters worse, he begins to form a bond with Fu, a gang member.
