In the village of Copper Canyon, people are taking advantage of an economic housing boom, and the local country club is abuzz with excitement about the investment opportunity that has presented itself. Roger (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Georgie (Kyra Sedgwick) are a once-vibrant couple who have settled into a mediocre lifestyle that is causing their marriage to fall apart and their children to turn away from their parents. Nonetheless, Georgie, who is desperately unhappy, pushes Roger to find a method to invest in the stock market bubble in the hopes that their family would be saved by the money they will undoubtedly make from their investments. When Pat (Rhys Coiro), a local tennis pro who also happens to be a part-time drug dealer, comes to Roger for investment guidance, Roger recognizes an opportunity. Being torn between the reality that his family could be saved by this illicit money and his moral obligations, Roger finds himself facing down the barrel of a moral quandary.
