Billy Bigelow passed away 15 years ago. He long ago waived his privilege to return to Earth for a day when he was outside the golden gates. He has learned that there is a family conflict involving his wife Julie Bigelow, née Jordan, and an unidentified child. He now wishes to return to Earth in order to assist in resolving the issue; however, he must first obtain permission from the gatekeeper by sharing his narrative. Adapted from the successful Broadway musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein.
