A group of scientists devise a plan to make it appear as though the United States space program successfully landed on Mars. This is done so that the United States space program's good name will not be harmed. Three astronauts with good intentions, all of whom are willing participants in the deceit, find themselves in a position where they are liabilities when it is stated that their space capsule was lost when re-entering the atmosphere. Now, with the assistance of a fearless journalist, they are faced with the challenge of combating a nefarious conspiracy that will do anything in its power to conceal the truth.
