A man is bitten by an insect while working in a greenhouse after coming into contact with an exotic plant. He becomes unwell almost immediately and is rushed to the hospital, where physicians discover that he is suffering from an unknown bacteria as well as a bizarre parasite that erupts from his lips in the form of a giant slimy wormlike monster. There will be more cases of bacterial infection in the near future, but the more immediate problem for the hospital is a wormlike creature that, after being accidentally exposed to a genetic growth stimulant, grows to monstrous proportions and unleashes a reign of terror and bloodshed in the hospital's abandoned wing, which is currently under construction.
