Blood Paradise
Best-selling crime writer Robin Richards (Andréa Winter) is sent to the Swedish countryside by her publisher to regain inspiration after her latest novel fails. She meets an assortment of strange characters on her own, including her driver and most ardent fan, his explosively jealous wife, and the increasingly deranged man who owns the farm where she's staying. Robin discovers how dangerous these oddballs may be as she feels completely out of place in her new surroundings—for one thing, she is always dressed for glamorous, big-city life. Winter holds your attention rapt throughout Patrick von Barkenberg's (who also appears as Robin's boyfriend) unpredictable debut feature, which is bathed in dreamy atmospherics and streaked with offbeat humor.
