Blood in the Water
Despite the fact that Percy and Veronica are currently housesitting in the Hollywood Hills at a sumptuous modern estate for the summer, the real world of New York, employment, and young professional problems are only a few short days away. However, they are hurrying to get out of this paradise because a visit from an old college classmate Freedgood has ruined the peace. Prison, murky business associations, and drug dealing have all stained his life since their undergraduate years at the University of Virginia. We immediately learn that this has resulted in the man's death, an LAPD detective, and a craving for the everyday conflict that appears so much more appealing than sticking in their false Eden.
